Default Underwhelmed by celebrity

Sparked by today's discussion, here you even been underwhelmed by meeting a celebrity?

I met Paul McDermott at a charity fund raiser - he was the MC.

He sat next to me at our table.

I felt and still feel sorry for him - IRL he was severely depressed and suicidal.

I worry that the cult of celebrity is a fundamentally destructive process.

David Wenham. He was so short and older (I'm 6 foot so every male actor will seem less than impressive than on screen). There was actually nothing wrong with him, I just have only really seen him on Lord of the rings as Faramir. Too much expectations on actors. He seemed nice enough personality wise. That's the most important thing.

I once got drunk with the dragon-costume guy from the St George Bank promos.

Kids are apparently cruel, and have an uncanny knack of finding the worst Ouch Spots.

If everywhere I turned had those things at eye level, I'd probably get a bit punchy too.

I remember when I was young, my folks had taken me and a 'friend' who had some behavioural issues to the local swimming pool. Long story short Mark 'Jacko' Jackson (popular during the day) walks in wearing his togs ready for a swim. My friend sees him and takes off to say hi. Within a minute he comes skulking back crying his eyes out. Basically Mark turned to him and said "F**k off Kid" and that was that

A few years back I was at a party out in the country somewhere. Problem was I got the s***s really badly, crook in the guttiwuts I was. In hindsight I should have just run into the bush to disgrace myself to the wildlife, but instead I decided to use the lavatory. Of course while I'm in there I had some guy keep banging on the door. I could only apologise for my extended stay. After I was done I had turned the room into the most unholy space possible. I quickly tried to make my exit and bumped into the gent trying to get in. Little did I know it was one of my favourite TV celebrities Dylan Lewis. A little part of me died inside... and probably a little part of him died soon after. The celebrity was certainly underwhelmed by me
