Would it be considered cheating to view the footage on YouTube?

I can't picture it in my mind, and I'm hoping that if I see it, it may trigger some memory?
Your wish...I haven't looked but pls don't read the comments as it might be in there.

Looking at that intro from the 70s I have to say, it has dated really fking well.

Hint because it's a hard one, the designation went along the lines of;

(Letter)(Number)-(Letter)(Number)

It was made by Northrop for NASA

I thought you might have been more of an Avro Lancaster fan?

I have a soft spot for the ill-fated XB-70. I quite like this photo, because of the Ford pickup truck under the wing which dates it!
The B-17... I don't know... there's a feeling of nobility about it that the Lancaster doesn't have. Besides, there's the Lancaster's tail. And as for the Arvo, love the old Vulcan.

But that XB-70 is gorgeous!

So a lifting body, then?

The one I posted earlier (jigsaw mention) was the HL-10. So I'll guess that, even though it's letter-letter, number-number, it was made by Northrop.
