A big round of applause to the team that worked on the 2016 Census Campaign. They put in the hard yards to get the message out there and it paid off. Well done.
yes, it's fantastic. It's so hard to have a coherent atheist movement with structure and organisation. Freedom and diversity are great, but there is strength in numbers, so it's a hard balancing act between representing a large number of people without selling out too many of them who have their own particular take on it. AFA hits the mark for me, and the census campaign is a brilliant example of hitting the mark for everyone.

Once again, I feel my membership fees are value for money.

So when you factor in the 9.6% that chose not to answer the question our xtian population comes in at a cliffhanging 50.1%. Making a claim that we are a Christian nation may remain a statistical fact for awhile yet but it hardly carries a hell of a lot of weight and anyone relying on the .1% to justify an argument, or policy, is kind of pathetic, i'd have thought.

Burden of proof is the obligation on somebody presenting a claim to provide evidence to support its truth (a warrant). Once evidence has been presented, it is up to any opposing "side" to show the evidence presented is not adequate. If claims were accepted without warrants, then every claim could simultaneously be claimed to be true.

History isn't written by the victors. It's written by the people with the time machines.

30% but a unified 30% in their lack of belief in a skydaddy. As opposed to the catch all umbrella term "christian" with its multitude of denominations some of which are vehemently opposed to other sects.

But IS it unified? What about the SBNR (spiritual but not religious). Some of them might believe in a skydaddy but still tick the box..
