I was looking for bible passages about wife beating and found something tamer first called '7 ways to discipline your wife' and found that appalling enough, they disagreed with beating though and mentioned Christian Domestic Discipline. https://biblicalgenderroles.com/2015...ine-your-wife/
I still couldn't find any bible passages that say to beat your wife though.

There is scriptural basis for the teaching in Judaism, Christianity and Islam on the subordination of wives, the husband's status as teacher and disciplinarian. She is to submit to and honour him in all things, just as the children are. She is characterised as a wilful child.

Clearly the practise of wife beating goes back a long way in the Middle East, in Jewish tradition and carries into Christianity and Islam.

This treatise on the subject reveals moderation was prescribed regarding the practice as taught by the very odd less unenlightened rabbi, but in the rabbinical literature it also gets to be tolerated, condoned and enjoined upon husbands to beat their wives.

Violence is all through the Bible. Take this odd scripture,

Deuteronomy 25:

11 When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand and taketh him by the secrets:

12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.

So I guess they/we are to respect that fighting is men's business.

William Golding's Lord of the Flies 1954, describes what pubescent males will revert to, left to their own devices.

What about harmony and understanding?

Yes, I'm well aware of this doozy! So, better to let your hubby die by his enemy's hand than assist with some very effective technique!
Deuteronomy 12.5 'Thine enemy's balls are worth more than thy hand of thy beloved wife'
