The Atheist Foundation of Australia (AFA) is proud to lend its support to the Jode Matthews Cancer and Family Appeal.
The Matthews are a family of non-believers from Queensland who have faced more than anyone’s fair share of life’s difficulties.
With two family members already dealing with cancer, Jode’s advanced cercival cancer requires expensive drug treatments for her survival. The Matthews have advised that they are only interested in medically sound, evidence-based treatments. For that, they need help from their community.
Their appeal has been registered with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, and the nominated promoters are Chrys Stevenson, Ron Williams and Danny Jarman (AFA Vice-President).
We join with other atheist, skeptical and freethought communities and organisations in promoting the practical application the Matthews’ family message “you don’t need to believe in God to do some good”.
