Hey lets build an ark........

Ummm ... the Biblical "flood" never "destroyed the earth" in the first place. It was a very geographically isolated event. So what's with this "again" business???

I pity this dunce's family.

Frightening that anyone believes this utter nonsense.

A promise that god fulfilled so entirely that he undid the Noachian flood, so it never happened in the first place.

Using the word "think" is attributing a capability that is beyond them.

Jesus!...............so to speak.........

Excellent - but how awful is the forcing of religion on people!

The only actual path to peace in the middle east. (Oh, I just said a meme).

Sad for people forced to follow State run religion on fear of death or Sharia law. We really don't know how lucky we are.

People are becoming too intelligent

One can only hope .

This is awesome. People have nothing to lose but their chains.

This is good but our work is not over. We need to educate more people.

The article state that Lebanon is losing faith in God rapidly. Quite understandable, if God does exist is throwing everything it can at it. I don't even think the devil could do a better job. In all seriousness I really hope the great people of Lebanon can take their faith in their on hands and make it happen for them.

I was British Army through the 90's and into the 2000's and they had a church in every garrison but in all honesty the 'Padre' was mostly just tolerated and only wheeled out for the usual ceremonial occasions. As a lifelong atheist I wouldn't have stood for being pushed towards any form of religion outside listening to them say a prayer at a rememberance day parade or an in-service funeral.

I remember when I joined back in the 90s, Kapooka (basic training) had an amazing church up on the hill which had a shared foyer for three churches, Catholic, Anglican, Other (at the time was operated by a uniting minister). There was a pastoral care component of the training and you had to choose one. If you were non-religious or a different religion you had to choose “other”. I always thought this was odd and non inclusive, but at the time the vast majority of new soldiers at least claimed to be some brand of Christian anyway.A couple of years ago, I visited Holsworthy and saw all the new facilities there and once again, a big church built on the taxpayer dime! By this stage I was more militantly atheist and was pissed that a church was such a dominant feature of the newly rebuilt base.

Ergo there is no tenable concept of a "just-war" or righteous indignation. Ridicule religion everyday before breakfast or zealots will have you kowtowing to their imaginary friend.Since Copernicus 1543 we have know our little earth is not the centre of the universe, since 1995 thousand of exoplanets have been found orbiting other suns, since Darwin and Wallace 1859 we have known there is no such thing as made in God's image, we are all related to other mammals and in 1953 DNA discovery confirmed all evolutionary relationships. Also in 1953 Stanley Miller showed that simple chemicals can lead to self replicating cells.

I reckon the last thing you need if you have just had your legs blown off is some guy telling you it was Gods way but he loves you.

While someone like Father Mulcahy from M.A.S.H. would not be too bad, a Sidney Freedman type would be of far more use. The ADF does need something as far too many defense force personnel the world over are ending up with PTSD, and not just from serving in war zones.

There’s always been atheists in foxholes

What will replace the psychological dependency you've learned from birth? What will happen when you take the training wheels off and suddenly you are free?

Previously, Xtian RI volunteer breached policies, posted photos of students, slunk away 4 a time then went back 2 do RI again. @QLDEducation knows this but there is no mechanism, or likely even interest in, stopping this. We redacted this photo, not him

Dodgy Christian Religious Instruction provider repeatedly allowed back by Education Dept despite serious concerns. All this happened on @gracextwo watch. Yet she says no Satanist RI on her watch. Gobsmacking! Won't someone think of the children & repeal RI law. https://twitter.com/psss_qld/status/1361153461824331778

@psss_qld Thanks for raising this issue. The department is committed to protecting personal information. It is mandatory for religious instructors to undertake annual training in a range of important matters, including student protection and information privacy.

Ed Dept also told by us of other breaches by same volunteer. What's the point of laws/policies if there are no consequences? RI law & policy toothless but @gracextwo suddenly gets tough on a dif worldview seeking access under same law. #DoubleStandards #OnHerWatch #qldpol
