Due to overwhelming international and local public support for the Atheist Foundation of Australia Inc bus slogan campaign, the AFA Committee of Management has decided to pursue redress of the APN Outdoor ‘rejection’ with the Victorian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.
This is the second action along these lines, the first put forward to the Tasmanian anti-discrimination board. The official deliberation there is still pending.
President of the Foundation, David Nicholls said; “The world-wide response demands we act decisively to release freedom of expression from the arbitrary control of bus company advertising executives. We therefore have no option but to seek legal means to that end.”
A complaint to the Victorian anti-discrimination body has been lodged this date by AFA Public Relations Team Member, Dr John L. Perkins.
