Was it Voltaire that said "Those Who Can Make You Believe Absurdities, Can Make You Commit Atrocities".

Part of the ongoing conflict in the region:

Iraq bombings: At least 25 people killed, 60 injured in string of Islamic State suicide blasts

At least 25 people have been killed and 60 more injured across Iraq in a series of suicide attacks targeting members of Shiite militias and military forces, security and medical officials say.

In the deadliest single attack, a suicide car bomb blew up in the centre of Basra, the largest city in Iraq, killing five people and injuring 10.

Witnesses saw three burned bodies at the scene of the Basra attack two still inside vehicles, and a third on a stretcher.

The blast set vehicles alight and damaged buildings in the area, one of the journalists said.

Another IS militant targeted a convoy of the Popular Mobilization Force (PMF), a coalition of Shiite militias, killing five, in the town of Mashahdeh, north of Baghdad.

People wearing suicide belts later blew themselves up at a military checkpoint in the north of Baghdad, killing five, and in the middle of a crowd of PMF outside a restaurant in the southern city of Nassiriya, killing four.

Two members of the Government's security forces were killed in suicide car bombs in the province of al-Anbar, west of Baghdad, and a third was killed south of Baghdad by an explosive device, local security sources said.

Two people were also killed when mortar rounds hit the district of Abu Ghraib, west of the capital, they said.

The thought that relinquishing your religion is the solution for ending the violence is never entertained. It's unthinkable. Pascal's Wager. The wages of unbelief is beheading, temporally, in the now.

And so the Sunnis and the Shias will see to it that nothing and no one is left standing. The men will, that is.

Just discovered this Reddit post with a few Xtian nastinesses, some of which I hadn't seen before:

-Ilaga is a Catholic Extremist group who are violently anti-Islam. The group's bloodiest act was in 1971 where they killed 70-100 civilians.

-Anti-Balaka groups have destroyed almost every mosque in the Central African Republic. Amnesty international has reported several massacres committed by this Christian group against civilians and has forced thousands to flee the country. Some reports of cannibalism exist. They lynched the health minister and went on a looting and killing spree after the election of Catherine Samba-Panza. Within a month they murdered around 1000 people.

-National Liberation Front of Tripura is a rebel group of Christian terrorists in India. It uses forced conversion against tribespeople to force them to Christianity. They have stated they are "(fighting) for the tribal areas of the state to become overtly Christian" and "has warned members of the tribal community that they may be attacked if they do not accept the Christian agenda". The government contends that the Baptist Church of Tripure supplies arms and finances to the group. They threaten Hindus celebrating festivals and have killed over 20 between 1999 and 2001 for resisting forced conversion.

-Nagaland, another Indian Christian terrorist group that trafficks drugs, kidnaps, assassinates, extorts, and uses forced conversion techniques.

-Maronite Christian militias in Lebanon perpetrated the Karantina and Tel al-Zaatar massacres of Palestinians and Lebanese Muslims. The Sabra and Shatila massacre targeted unarmed refugees for rape and murder and the UN labeled it genocide. One reported said the people were wearing crucifixes and calling themselves Christians.

-The Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda is accused of using child soldiers and committing numerous crimes against humanity (massacres, abduction, torture, rape, child sex slavery). They wear rosary beads and recite passages before battle.

-In the US at least 11 people have been killed in attacks on abortion clinics in the United States since 1993. Since 1981 members of the Army of God have attacked doctors and abortion clinics.

-Eric Robert Rudolph carried out the Centennial Olympic Park bombing in 1996, as well as subsequent attacks on an abortion clinic and a lesbian nightclub. Michael Barkun, a professor at Syracuse University, considers Rudolph to likely fit the definition of a Christian terrorist. James A. Aho, a professor at Idaho State University, argues that religious considerations inspired Rudolph only in part.

-Terrorism scholar Aref M. Al-Khattar has listed The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord (CSA), Defensive Action, the Montana Freemen, and some "Christian militia" as groups that "can be placed under the category of far-right-wing terrorism" that "has a religious (Christian) component".

-In 1996 three men—Charles Barbee, Robert Berry and Jay Merelle—were charged with two bank robberies and bombings at the banks, a Spokane newspaper, and a Planned Parenthood office in Washington State. The men were anti-Semitic Christian Identity theorists who believed that God wanted them to carry out violent attacks and that such attacks would hasten the ascendancy of the Aryan race.

-In 2015, Robert Doggart, a 63 year old mechanical engineer, was indicted for solicitation to commit a civil rights violation by intending to damage or destroy religious property after communicating that he intended to amass weapons to attack a Muslim enclave in Delaware County, New York. Doggart, a member of several private militia groups, communicated to an FBI source in a phone call that he had an M4 carbine with "500 rounds of ammunition" that he intended to take to the Delaware County enclave, along with a handgun, molotov cocktails and a machete. The FBI source recorded him saying "if it gets down to the machete, we will cut them to shreds".
and more.

If you run into assholes all day, maybe you're the asshole." - Raylan Givens
