Default Christianity is dying.

It looks that way anyway.

Have a read:

Three out of four Christian teens walk away from the church after they leave home. ... 70-75% of Christian youth leave the church after high school (see survey ...

http://crossexamined.org/youth-exodus-problem/

May 14, 2014 - Are students leaving the church in droves? ... The quote often sounds like this: "86% of evangelical youth drop out of church after graduation, never ... shows that about 70% of young adults who indicated they attended church ...

Our mission at CrossExamined.org is to equip high school and college students to know why Christianity is true, how to defend it, and how to tactfully refute those who try to corrupt them.

Gee thanks. Their premise of atheists is flawed and discriminatory (no surprises there) They are clearly saying that atheists are bad (corrupt) so the folks at Crossexamined.org's reasoning is flawed and most young people will know this and reject the idea that atheists and non christians are their enemy.
If they referred to us as just decent people with opposing views, maybe they would be taken more seriously by today's youth.

Oops! I hope they don't read this, they could get ideas..

Australia might be losing its religion, but the world isn't - Fairfax

Quote:
Pew's report says about one in six of the world's people now have no religious affiliation. But that's forecast to shrink to just one in eight of the global population by 2060.

Why? Because those who opt for "no religion" on their census forms are heavily concentrated in places with aging populations and low fertility, such as China, Japan, Europe, North America and Australia. The majority of the world's "religiously unaffiliated" are in China (61 per cent) and Japan.

By contrast, populations in places with many religious adherents – mostly developing countries where birth rates are high and infant mortality rates have been falling – are likely to grow strongly. Much of the worldwide growth of Islam and Christianity, for example, is expected to take place in sub-Saharan Africa.

The trend for people to switch to "no religion" in Western nations like Australia is likely to continue, mostly at the expense of traditional Christian denominations. But that won't be nearly enough to offset population growth in places where people are still happy to be affiliated with a religious faith.

The Pew report describes this as the "demographic challenges of the religiously unaffiliated".

@boris You'd be up against it with that argument in the US and probably certain parts of Africa. But the influence of xtianity has been waning since the enlightenment. However, beware the flaying tail. We are having a survey marriage equality because...Jesus. So... not dead yet.

People in these uber religious countries don't have much choice to state their atheism anyway, as the consequences could be dire. There is no legal penalty in 'western' countries for atheism, and very low (by comparison) threat of violence for it.

Yes, with the exception of US, where it can be tricky professionally to be openly heathen. But look how well they're travelling!

some 70% of the youth in the US leave and never go back because they say its irellevant

so Christianity is dying

http://www.standardnewswire.com/news/1086612836.html

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 8, 2017 /Standard Newswire/ -- All of the major US college ministries and a growing number of youth ministries and denominations have teamed together to reduce the 70% Christian students who walk away from their faith in college. The first days and weeks when freshmen land on their new college campus are critical to solving this tremendous problem.

Campus Ministry Link (www.CampusMinistryLink.org) is a free online tool just released that relationally connects graduating high school students to college ministries and campus churches.

Studies show that around 70% of college students leave the church. One of the major reasons is the Christian community had no way of intentionally connecting students to Christian communities before they begin college, leaving hundreds of thousands of students' faith up in the air during the most important transition of their lives. The Navigators found that the bonds students make during the first 72 hours on campus often determines the outcome.

What does this even mean? Do they actively reject Christianity? Do they become atheists? Do they join alternative religions?

I suspect that it simply means that 70% of Christian students are not actively involved in Christian rituals as part of their daily lives. Those religious bodies are concerned about their diminishing importance rather than a rising tide of rational non-belief among students.

The African kids surviving and being raised xtian may outnumber the Western kids who leave the faith.

Maybe xtianity is moving to Africa.

if 70% of the youth continue to leave churches in the US and I believe here in Australia as well - they churches will collapse and as the older generation dies off the young people are not going to be there to carry it on.

Who care about Africa where they burn and murder witches because the Bible says so.

Its just another primitive cult with primitive people to be honest and politically incorrect.
