Default conservatives against against the environment

It appears, led by Abbott, a group of conservatives are going to vote against any clean energy targets put forward by the government, shades of the Trump administration.

Tony Abbott has warned he'll vote against the coalition government if it tries to legislate a clean energy target, with up to six backbenchers tipped to follow him.

"He has let the government know his position. He won't vote for a clean energy target," a government source told The Australian on Wednesday.
In an opinion piece, Mr Abbott argues the recommendation by the chief scientist for such a target should be dropped.

"It would be unconscionable for a government that was elected promising to scrap the carbon tax and to end Labor's climate change obsessions to go down this path," he writes.

It appears the Tones is still of the opinion that climate change is a hoax, if ever there was a man stuck in the past and unable to understand or accept modern science this is he, back to the 50's we go.

Of course he still thinks he should be leading the government, but he is just a sad relic of a bygone era, where men were men, women were women, and child raping paedophile priests were just not talked about!

It's unaustrayan I tell yah, UNAUSTRAYAN!

The greatest possible contribution Tones could make to the environment is by not existing.

One of the advantages of the US system is the fact that once the President is out of office they can all just forget about he/she. I expect when Trump goes it will be with a sigh of relief and a determination by most of the American public to never listen to anything he has to say ever again.

In Australia whenever anything controversial comes up the media trots to the dusty old cupboard and drags out a bunch of dust covered ex-premiers and asks them for their opinion, it would be laughable if it wasn't for the fact that people listen to them.

As for the Tones, it appears he is determined to maintain a position that no matter what the evidence is your mind shouldn't be changed and you must continue on the course you embarked on thirty years ago even if the evidence now says that continuing is certain death. In fact I'm surprised he even uses modern medicine, after all chicken entrails were good enough for his great great grandfather, they should be good enough from him!

Authoritarian mind set. Your position is more correct if you have more "great people" of the past supporting it.

Burden of proof is the obligation on somebody presenting a claim to provide evidence to support its truth (a warrant). Once evidence has been presented, it is up to any opposing "side" to show the evidence presented is not adequate. If claims were accepted without warrants, then every claim could simultaneously be claimed to be true.

History isn't written by the victors. It's written by the people with the time machines.
